Instrument recommendations
Hakai CTD Pipeline is compatible with two instrument manufacturers:
- RBR: XR-620, Concerto2 (Fast), Maestro2 (Fast), Concerto3 (Fast), Maestro3 (Fast)
- Seabird:SBE 19 plus v2, SBE 911plus1, SBE 25plus1

For all instruments, we recommend using an external on/off switch to turn on the instrument prior to the deployment and use the fastest sampling rate available for profiling applications.

Metadata form
The Hakai Institute relies on the Device Magic app and proprietary forms to collect instruments deployment metadata. Please contact the data@hakai.org to get access to Hakai CTD deployment forms.
Warning
For each survey, a new CTD form should be created within the field techinician tablet.
To which is added all the survey related information, all the drops completed
during the survey including the miscasts ones should be added to the form as a drop.
Every drop must be associated with a start/bottom/end time, a station and a start/bottom/end location (highly recommended).
